This song took a while to reach this final stage. One earlier version had a full-on swing big-band feel to the middle section but I was never quite happy with it. So it mutated in to this simpler version with the swung middle 16 bars, dropping out into massive Phish-like solo. Obscure reference for Cynthia Should fans in the line (stol..ahem, borrowed) 'We wait all week for Saturday' from the anthemic 'When Saturday Comes' by Chris Muir.
Sonically this one is supposed to simulate the effect of first coffee then a little swing as our 'hero' wakes up - from the sparse acoustic strums of the opening, through the swing section, to the gradual piling on of layers as the solo builds to the final bit.
